What you will love about this home We have a spacious flat on the top, 3rd floor of a 1920`s apartment block. Please note that there is no lift (elevator). The flat has 1 bedroom and another room with a sofa bed which we use as an office, so the flat can accommodate an additional person or 2 children. There is a large eat-in kitchen, living room and one bathroom. There are two balconies, one off the kitchen and the other off the living room, which get sun most of the day. The balconies overlook a large communal garden which you are also free to use. There is free on-street parking. What you will love about this neighborhood Our flat is located in an inner city suburb of Cologne and has a many restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs within 5 minutes walk. The nearest supermarket is only 5 minutes walk away and our local high street is less than 10 minutes walk. There is a local street market every Saturday & Wednesday selling a wide range of vegetables, fruit, bread, cheese, plants and flowers. Cologne is a relaxed, friendly city situated on the river Rhine and famous for its imposing Gothic cathedral and numerous Romanesque churches. Good transport links (tram & bus) are nearby and Cologne city centre and main railway station can be reached in 15 minutes. Bonn/Cologne airport is about 35 minutes by local train. For long-distance flights, Dusseldorf airport is 45 minutes by regional train and Frankfurt airport is 45 minutes by fast (ICE) train. Cologne is very well-placed for travelling to other European cities, eg 4.5 hours via Brussels to London by Eurostar, as well as high-speed direct trains to Brussels (2 hours), Paris (4 hours), Amsterdam (3 hours), Bonn (20 minutes), Berlin (4.5 hours). The picturesque middle Rhine valley (UNESCO World Heritage Site) with its vineyards and picturesque towns and villages can also be reached very easily by a very pleasant train ride.
