My home is located just southeast of downtown Austin in a hilly neighborhood bordered by the IH-35 freeway and the Colorado River. Built in 1955, it's 1664 square feet of charm and quirkiness with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an open living/dining/kitchen area. There's a porch and front patio with large front and back yards and lots of large trees and native plants. Original oak floors throughout with tile in the bathrooms. The master has an en suite and closet on the north end of the house. The other two bedrooms share a hall bathroom on the south side. Living spaces are in the middle. Each bedroom has a queen sized bed, windows, and closets. There is a carport with a small storage room attached to the house.
The neighborhood is calm and quiet with lots of walkers throughout the day. The location is close to downtown and access to major roads. It's one mile to the hike and bike trail around the lake. The trail is a 10-mile loop around the portion of the river that passes through downtown. Also nearby are the popular SoCo (South Congress, 1.5 miles) and SoLa (South Lamar, 3.1 miles) neighborhoods as well as downtown (2.6 miles) and the University of Texas (3.7 miles). The airport (ABIA) is 8 miles and the Circuit of the Americas F1 track is 17 miles. There are two nearby locations of the much loved local grocery store HEB within 2 miles and also coffee shops, restaurants, gas stations, bus stop, bank, and more.
