Our home is nestled in a safe, welcoming Balinese village, full of life and tradition. Every week, you’ll see beautiful local ceremonies and experience authentic Balinese culture just outside your door. The house itself is quiet, cozy and family-friendly, with a lush garden, an outdoor toddler play area, and plenty of open space to relax. We also have the support of a wonderful live-out pembantu (helper) who comes 5 days a week to clean, water the garden, cook delicious Indonesian dishes for you, and help with errands such as laundry drop-off making your stay both comfortable and stress-free. She also provides nanny services and available for hire at a very affordable rate (60K IDR / $4 USD per hour). She is always happy, loving, and reliable, which makes families feel at ease. Her english is not perfect but good enough to communicate your needs. For families that need baby cots, any baby equipment, or extra single beds that's very easy to arrange with cheap rental services. We have a small - 3rd room upstairs that will be locked and used for our storage while we're away. For remote workers, my husband has an ergonomic desk & chair and a large monitors he uses for professional photo work. We can move this whole set up to any part of the house for your comfort. Sanur is known for its calm, baby-friendly beaches, laid-back atmosphere for remote workers that want peace and easy access to the islands. Within a short walk you’ll find restaurants in the beautiful rice fields, local markets, cafés, convenience stores, as well as the vibrant Local Market for fresh fruits and vegetables. Sanur is the perfect base for exploring - only 7–10 minutes to Sanur Beach Town, 10 minutes to the fast boat port for trips to Nusa Penida and Lembongan, 45 minutes to Ubud, and 60 minutes to Uluwatu and Canggu. Whether you want culture, adventure, or relaxation, our neighborhood makes it easy to experience the best of Bali. Getting Around Exploring Bali from our home is easy: Scooter/Motorbike: If you’re experienced, bring an international driver’s permit and check your insurance. Need a refresher or lesson? Our trusted instructor Ketut (English-speaking and very popular with expats) can pick you up for private lessons right at the house. Car & Driver: We can arrange a private driver for your entire trip. Taxis: Use Grab or Gojek apps—rides are quick, reliable, and affordable ($1–$14 USD depending on distance). ✨ A Note on Bali: Honesty & Transparency As a family, we believe it’s important to be upfront so you know what to expect. While Bali is often portrayed as a modern paradise, daily life here can feel very different from what you might be used to. The tap water isn’t drinkable (though it’s safe for showering - we provide filtered osmosis water for drinking). Streets may not look as polished as in your home country, and at times, Bali can feel a bit like the “wild west.” But here’s the truth we’ve seen over and over: no one leaves Bali unchanged. This island has a way of touching your soul, slowing you down, and offering a kind of healing that stays with you long after you’ve gone. Most visitors leave not only with beautiful memories, but with a deep longing to return and many do. That's why we came in 2020, and moved here in 2022.
