Beachside apartment in Mar del Plata, Argentina

Right in the middle of the city, just 4 blocks from the beach, I built this apartment as my own urban refuge — a quiet, light-filled space to come home to after a day in the water. It's not a fancy vacation rental, it's a real home in Mar del Plata, Argentina, often called "the Argentine Biarritz" for its elegant coastline and beautiful beaches. While I'm away, it's yours to unwind in too. THE SPACE A cozy bedroom with a comfortable double bed and blackout curtains for good sleep, a living/dining area with a sofa bed (great for a 3rd guest), and a small library corner. Step out onto the private balcony for city views and morning coffee. The kitchen is fully stocked — gas stove, fridge, coffee maker, kettle, everything you need to cook a real meal, not just get by. Washing machine included, clean towels and linens provided. WIFI & WORKSPACE Reliable home internet (around 100 Mbps download / 30 Mbps upload), with a quiet corner by the dining table that works well as a desk if you need to get some work done. THE NEIGHBORHOOD A quiet residential pocket near Shopping Aldrey, with cafes, bakeries, supermarkets and pharmacies all within walking distance — the kind of block where you can feel tucked away even though everything is close. Mar del Plata is Argentina's most beloved seaside city: long beaches, a lively boardwalk (the Rambla), and a great surf scene, especially in summer (Dec–Mar). Playa Grande and Punta Mogotes, two of the best surf spots, are a short ride away. Downtown and the port (go for the fresh seafood) are about 10-15 minutes by bus or taxi. WHY WE SWAP We love traveling and discovering new places through home exchange — it's such an authentic way to experience a destination like a local. At the same time, we'd love for more people to discover Mar del Plata: we think this city deserves to be better known internationally, and we built this apartment as a place we're genuinely proud to share.
