Cosy Private Apartment with Sea Views in Paço de Arcos, Portugal About my home Welcome to my home in Paço de Arcos, a charming coastal town just outside Lisbon. My apartment is 48 m² and offers beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean and the mountains of Caparica. It’s a great place for anyone who wants to enjoy the Portuguese coast, experience local life and still have easy access to Lisbon and the surrounding area. The apartment is entirely private. You have your own living space, sleeping area, kitchenette and bathroom, so you won’t need to share any of these with other residents. The building is in a quiet neighbourhood, but everything you need is just around the corner. The apartment has a comfortable double bed measuring 140 × 200 cm, a living room with a large TV and a comfortable sofa, a kitchenette with a four-burner gas stove, a private refrigerator and a coffee machine. There’s also a private bathroom. One of my favourite things about living here is the view. You can look out towards the sea and the mountains of Caparica, enjoy your morning coffee with a view, or relax on the sofa after a day exploring the area. The apartment is a little older in style, particularly the bathroom and shower, so it’s not a modern luxury apartment. However, everything works properly and it’s a practical, comfortable place to stay. The hot water system is a little different from a standard modern shower: you need to turn on the gas in the kitchen before taking a hot shower. Once you know how it works, it’s straightforward. There is also a shared rooftop terrace in the building. It’s available to residents, although I personally rarely use it, so it’s generally a quiet space. Comfort and practical details The apartment has a portable air conditioner that can both cool and heat the space. The exhaust hose needs to be placed outside through a window while the unit is running. If you’re travelling by car, there is a free parking spot approximately five minutes’ walk from the apartment. I’ll share the exact location and directions privately. Parking closer to the apartment is generally paid between 9 AM and 7 PM, so the free parking option is useful if you plan to explore the region by car. Overall, it’s a simple, cosy and private home in an excellent location. If you value sea views, proximity to the beach and the opportunity to experience everyday life in Portugal, I think you’ll enjoy staying here. The location: the best part of my home Paço de Arcos is a lovely seaside town along the Portuguese Riviera, between Lisbon and Cascais. It has a relaxed local atmosphere, traditional streets, cafés, restaurants and a beautiful coastline. You can enjoy the benefits of being close to a major city without staying in the middle of all the noise and crowds. Almost everything you need is within walking distance: * Beach: approximately 5 minutes on foot. * Train station: approximately 2 minutes on foot. * Supermarket: approximately 2 minutes on foot. * Small park: approximately 2 minutes on foot. * Restaurants, bars and cafés: just around the corner in the centre of Paço de Arcos. The train station is particularly convenient. You can travel along the coast towards Cascais or towards Lisbon, making it easy to explore without needing a car. Just around the corner from the apartment, you’ll find the local centre, with restaurants, cosy bars and cafés where you can enjoy a coffee or a meal. There are also more cafés and places to eat elsewhere in Paço de Arcos, so you can discover different spots during your stay. Enjoy the Portuguese coastline One of the nicest things about staying here is how easy it is to enjoy the ocean. The waterfront promenade is perfect for walking, jogging or simply enjoying the views. You can explore the coastline towards neighbouring seaside areas, spend time at Carcavelos Beach, or find a spot by the water to relax and watch the sunset. The surrounding area is great for anyone who enjoys walking, being outdoors, going to the beach or discovering small Portuguese towns. You can spend a whole day exploring the coastline without travelling far from home. You can start the day with a coffee at a local café, spend the afternoon walking by the ocean, and finish with dinner at one of the nearby restaurants. It’s an excellent location for enjoying a relaxed Portuguese lifestyle. Lisbon, Cascais and Sintra The apartment is also a great base for exploring some of Portugal’s most popular destinations. Lisbon is approximately 20 minutes away by car, depending on traffic. Discover its historic neighbourhoods, viewpoints, tiled buildings, local markets, restaurants and nightlife. You can also take the train into the city, which is a convenient alternative to driving. Cascais is a beautiful coastal town with a historic centre, beaches, restaurants, shops and a lovely marina. It’s easily accessible by train and makes a great day trip. Sintra is approximately 20 minutes away by car, depending on traffic. It’s famous for its palaces, gardens, historic architecture and beautiful green hills. It’s one of the most special places to visit in the Lisbon region. You can also explore nearby beaches, coastal villages and other parts of the Lisbon metropolitan area. Whether you prefer sightseeing, nature, food, beaches or simply wandering around, there’s plenty to do. What kind of stay is this? My apartment is best suited to one person or a couple who want a private place to stay and explore the area. It’s a T1 apartment with a 140 × 200 cm double bed, a living room, kitchenette and private bathroom. It’s not a luxury holiday home, and the interior is a little older, but it’s a real home in a fantastic location. You have your own space and privacy, and you can comfortably use it as a base for a few days or a longer stay while discovering Portugal. The building has a shared rooftop terrace, but the apartment itself is entirely private. You won’t be sharing your everyday living spaces with other residents. Why I love the location For me, the biggest advantage is the combination of the sea, the local atmosphere and the connections to the rest of the region. I can walk to the beach in five minutes, get groceries in two minutes, catch a train without needing a car, and enjoy local cafés and restaurants just around the corner. At the same time, I can come home to a quiet neighbourhood and enjoy the sea and mountain views from my apartment. It’s a great way to experience a different side of Portugal: not just visiting Lisbon as a tourist, but staying in a real coastal community where everyday life revolves around the ocean, cafés, local restaurants and outdoor living. I’d be happy to arrange a house swap with people who would like to explore Lisbon and the Portuguese coast. I’m open to discussing different dates and destinations, and I hope you’ll enjoy this part of Portugal as much as I do!
