So one of the questions we get asked most frequently at Swaphouse is: "Is Swaphouse really free?"
And I have an answer for you today: yes. Yes, it is. And this is how:
Number one: Swaphouse was built with the intention to give as many people on Earth as possible the opportunity to home swap. So being free — being low-barrier has been built into the DNA of Swaphouse from day one.
Number two: the Swaphouse team saves a lot of money every year by doing home swaps using the platform. And all that accommodation money we save? We reinvest it straight back into Swaphouse.
Which means, number three: Swaphouse doesn't need to take money from external investors right now. So we're not under pressure to monetize. And that means we don't have to charge you for using the platform.
And number four: eventually, as Swaphouse grows (and the operational costs grow too), it's possible that we may need to charge for some features. But if we do, we'd keep it to specific add-ons — like address verification or identity verification — while always maintaining the core swapping experience to be free.
If you had that question, I hope this clarifies it for you. 😊
