Why Do I Need to Match Before I Can Chat With Someone?

Another question we often get at Swaphouse is: "Why do we use a match-based system? Why can't you just scroll through thousands of listings and message whoever you want?"

The simple answer is: to make home swapping as painless and easy as possible.

Instead of scrolling endlessly and sending messages into the void — to people who might not even be interested in swapping with you — we encourage you to first make a meaningful match. When you match with someone, it means they've already shown interest in swapping homes with you too.

From that point on, you can start messaging each other, get to know one another, and talk about organizing a swap. You're spending your time on conversations that actually have potential.

Ultimately, this gives you a much higher chance of making a successful swap happen with that specific person and home.

Does swiping and matching sound familiar? We borrowed the idea from some pretty popular dating apps 😉
