My home is a newly renovated apartment on the 4th floor of a purpose built block. The building maintains the character of the city through an abundance of pink marble and tiles in the entrance and stairway. There is a 5sqm west facing balcony that looks over the treetops of the park across the road. The balcony's position means it's not overlooked and it's just big enough for a dining area and a yoga mat. In the morning, sunlight fills the kitchen which features all new appliances and large sliding windows. Contemporary furniture and a cohesive aesthetic throughout, thanks to architectural oversight, gives the apartment a comfortable but minimal feel. There is a TV, highspeed internet and dedicated workspace. There's also a 150cc LML (Vespa PX) available (motorcycle license required). The second bedroom can be configured with workspace + daybed (plus room for yoga) OR 2x single beds OR 1x double bed. I live in a residential area called Campo de Ourique, the neighbourhood survived the earthquake and the tsunami that followed in 1755 thanks to it's elevated position. Although since then it was rebuilt on a grid during the 19th century. Despite being only 30 minutes walk from the city center, the neighbourhood sits just outside the primary tourist areas and retains a typical, bustling, Portuguese atmosphere. There are several supermarkets, bakeries, cafes and restaurants within a few minutes walk. Nearby, the Campo de Ourique food market is where you can pick up freshly baked sourdough bread from Gleba bakery, local fish and vegetables, before stopping on the way home at Manteigaria for a pastel de nata (in the same building as the apartment!). There is a metro station 12 minutes walk away at Rato and the 28 tram line passes just around the corner. The apartment has double glazing throughout, however some noise from the street and airplanes overhead is audible, this is city life after all! The nearby trees sometimes emit dust when it's windy, this could be a nuisance if you are sensitive. Private room only also available: https://www.homeexchange.com/homes/view/2442830
