Modern flat in the very center of Lille

Ideally located, between the Belfry of Lille (city hall) and the Fine Arts Palace (Republic square), in a surprisingly quiet residential street, within 5 minutes walk of two metro stations (yellow and red lines) and everything you’ll need (organic grocery store, city markets, 3 popular bakeries, plenty of quality yet affordable eateries, coffee shops and bars, bookstores, public library... and within 10 minutes walk of Lille Flanders train station and the Grand Place. Plus we have two cycles secured in the building cycles-garage: explore the metropolis, ride along rivers and channels up to Kortrijk or Tournai in Belgium! We are Ayumi & Benjamin, a Franco-Japanese couple, Benjamin works from home most of the time, and this is our home. Our home is a 47m² flat, in a modern building (2019), 3rd floor, with large floor-to-ceiling windows and a balcony for sun bathed breakfasts. Wooden floor (very fragile, please get off your shoes). Insulation is pretty good in winter: central heating is rarely needed. There is a main living room with a fully equipped kitchen area, a Western-style dining/working area (oak-table and Aeron chair) and a relaxed Japanese-style area made of 3×tatamis (a spare futon is available for 2 additional guests). You’ll find a hi-fi sound system and a wifi-router with fiber to the home access to Internet. A spare computer screen (24”), a mechanical keyboard (qwerty) and a trackball (ploopy) are also available. Then comes the bedroom, with a 2m×1m60 bed (thick futon), and a small desk. A shutter (electric control) can be closed completely at night. Toilets are available in the shower room (Italian shower). You’ll find a 7Kg washing machine in there as well. Please note the building is suitable for wheelchair users: step-free, elevator. In theory, the flat is accessible too, but one might still need support to use all amenities (lack of handle for example in W.C).
