Bienvenidos / Benvingut / Welcome to your home away from home in Barcelona's Poble Sec LOCATION: Welcome to the neighborhood 'Poble Sec', one of the most central and authentic barrios of Barcelona. Tourist-friendly but really authentic, with a super local, "barrio" vibe, and some amazing food/coffee/bar and shopping options. It's a mix of old and young - traditional bars mixed in with new concept shops or trendy cafes. It's quiet and safe - here you won't run into pick-pockets or the craziness of some corners of the city. It's really residential with just the right amount of buzz. I really love to wander around this neighborhood, it's safe, calm, and really walkable. We have Park Montjuic just 5 minutes away by foot, here there is amazing opportunities to hike, walk, cycle, visit the various museums, or have a picnic and enjoy the sun. My cozy, clean, and authentic apartment couldn't be better located - on a quiet tree-lined street in the charming, authentic and lively Poble Sec barrio. Less than 1 minute away from my metro and autobus, right on the cycleway, and just 5 minutes to the peaceful oasis of Montjuic Park. Here you are: - 30 seconds away from some of the best restaurants and tapas bars in Barcelona - in the trendy Poble Sec neighborhood and Carrer Blai (known for it's traditional tapas bars) - a 5 minute walk from the Sant Antoni market and Carrer Parlament - with ultra-trendy concept shops, co-working cafes and really good gastronomy (I can give you recs) - 10 minute walk to El Raval, Las Ramblas, and the 'Gothic Quarter' of Barcelona, 15 minutes walking to Plaza Catalunya - About 30 minutes walking to Barceloneta Beach (there is also a bike lane and buses going directly there to get you there in 10 minutes) THE APARTMENT: Honestly, this apartment is old, but has charm and I live very comfortably here. It's not luxury, but I promise you will be happy and comfortable here. It's SUPER clean (no bugs!), BRIGHT, quiet and comfortable. I've put in some effort to make this apartment cute, cozy and "like home". What I love most about the apartment is how bright and sunny it is - it get's natural sunlight ALL DAY (which is rare for BCN) and I love enjoying the views from the little terrace. There is 1 large bedroom with a double bed that is definitely comfortable for 2 people. The bedroom has a terrace and is really lovely and sunny. There is a cozy and cute living room with a TV and dining table - also access to the terrace. There is a full, well-equipped kitchen should you wish to cook, with everything you need. There are two additional small 'extra' rooms, I currently use as storage and in one room there is a desk if you would like to work! There is wifi throughout the whole house, I work from home here everyday with no problem :) I have A/C, Netflix, wi-fi, a laundry machine (Washer only), everything you need to be comfortable. Quiet neighbors - never had a problem! PLEASE NOTE: While I love that the apartment has greenery from the trees on the street and sunlight all day - it is because it is on the 4th floor, and sadly, it is an old building without an elevator. It is a good workout to get up here ;) but unfortunately not the best option if you are older or with limited mobility, or if you have heavy bags with you ..! :( Another downfall: The bathroom is completely functional and super clean, but really small. Definitely only enough room for one person to be in there at a time, hah! ABOUT ME: - I am a young professional, who relocated to Barcelona this year after many years working in the US, London, and Ibiza - and just love the laid-back vibe of the city and easy access to hiking and outdoor adventures. - I work for an American marketing company and love anything outdoors and active! - I am really house-proud, SUPER CLEAN and really love being at home, and I can assure you will be comfortable here! - Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions, I want you to be comfortable here and have a great stay.
