Cat lovers only! The resident cat is 16 years old but still very spry. She loves to cuddle and play! She is allowed to go outside, but please bring her in before you leave the house.
Our house is an open studio design with 20ft ceilings, with a loft and private bedroom upstairs. The closed off bedroom is sound proofed, has a king sized bed, and is painted to look like rolling green mountains. The loft has a full size bunk bed and adjustable standing desk. My partner likes to work from the reading nook on the cat tree, but a second workstation can be set up anywhere in the house with a 6 foot folding table.
The studio (primary living space downstairs) has a king size mattress, marley dance floors and a wall of mirrors. There's also a wall of juggling props and other toys! Our house is a perfect dance space for any movements artists that can benefits from a wide open space. There are enough thick cheer mats to cover the studio floor if more cushion is desired, for yoga etc. While there are stairs on one side of the house, the opposite side has a human-sized cat tree for climbing to the second floor. It has a cozy reading nook halfway up. It's recommended not to wear socks on the cat tree as it can be slippery. Please don't climb it if it feels upsafe to you. Going down is more risky than going up.
The bathroom is a fully tiled shower room with toilet, on the second floor. There is a second toilet in the laundry room on the first floor.
The kitchen is fully equipped: walk-in refrigerator and chest freezer, professional bakery style convention oven (aka air fryer), large restaurant style sink, dishwasher, and ample counter space including a moveable island. We do not have a traditional stove top range, but instead we have a variety of electric applications including a large griddle, two induction cook tops (all of our cookware works on these) and two electric pressure cookers that also have saute settings.
We have some outdoor garden and green space, but it is not private from the neighbors. The neighbors are all very friendly though! There is a spot to park next to the house, and likely my minivan will be available to drive if you are licensed. However we live just a couple blocks from multiple major bus lines, so getting downtown or elsewhere should be no problem on the bus. We also have a road bike for a small person (I'm 5' 3") and a larger mountain bike, as well as helmets, lights and locks.
The neighborhood is centrally located, and walking distance from the biggest stretch of art galleries in the city. All the galleries are open late for the first Friday of every month. There is a small park and basketball court only 3 houses down the street, as well as a few other small parks and an overlook in the neighborhood. There are many larger parks in the city within a long walk, easy biking or short driving or busing distance.
Pittsburgh has lots to offer including world renoun museums, Phipps Conservatory, the aviary and zoo. There are lots of sporting events, and beautiful foliage in October. Pittsburgh is also only a 2 hour drive from Cayahoga National Park, and 4 hours drive from New River Gorge, the newest of the national parks. I'd be more than happy to share other ideas of things to do and upcoming events.
