Our home is a spacious one-story with a few stairs for elevation changes near the top of a mountain not far from Medellin, in what feels like "the country." It is private and feels like we're closer to heaven, yet is secure with its own electric gate and reliable with fiber optic internet.
We are a 10 minute drive to Llano Grande, which has the big supermarket - and we often rely on the local mercado to deliver what we need (ordered via WhatsApp).
There's no a/c nor heat because the weather is so temperate year round - though the fireplace has been a nice option on occasion (typically Oct-Dec).
Our landlord is a dear friend who lives next door and speaks English, having once lived in Canada. That said, most people only speak Spanish.
My husband converted a bedroom into a full blown office with a ridiculously large monitor (60" tv I believe) while I'm happy with the "maids room" that only has three 32" monitors, LOL.
