I live in a cozy and charming Altbau apartment in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg, one of Berlin’s most beloved and vibrant neighborhoods. The apartment is tucked away in a quiet courtyard while being just steps from the area’s many independent cafés, restaurants, and shops. With just an 8-minute walk to the S- and U-Bahn, you’ll have quick and easy access to the rest of the city. The space: This is a one-room apartment (36 sqm) with high ceilings and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Since space is limited, my sofa also serves as my bed (140x200cm)—but don’t worry, I have an extra mattress that I always place on top when it’s unfolded, making it just as comfortable as a real bed. The mattress is easily stored in the bed compartment when not in use. Kitchen A fully equipped kitchen where you can prepare anything from a simple breakfast to a cozy dinner. Plus: There is a washing machine. Bathroom Compact but functional, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. My apartment is located right by the Schönhauser Allee U-Bahn station, in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg—one of Berlin’s most vibrant and sought-after neighborhoods. The area is a perfect mix of hip and relaxed, filled with independent cafés, restaurants, and small boutique shops, creating a lively yet welcoming atmosphere. From here, it’s just a 15-minute walk to Mauerpark, famous for its Sunday flea market, making it a must-visit spot on the weekends. For food lovers, Estelle Dining is just around the corner, offering some of the best pizza in town. The U2 line is right outside the door, getting you to Alexanderplatz in just 15 minutes, from where you can explore the entire city with ease. Whether you want to dive into Berlin’s cultural scene, enjoy a cozy café morning, or explore new restaurants, this is the perfect base to experience the city like a local.
