Traditional house in Fez Medina

My home is in the Talaa Kbira / Boujloud neighbourhood, in the winding alleyways of the UNESCO listed, 1200 year old Medina of Fez el Bali. On the ground floor there is a small toilet, and the ensuite bedroom, with shower and toilet, is on the first floor. The open plan salon and kitchen is on the second floor, and here there's a small table and chair for working. From there you climb the stairs to a private roof terrace, with panoramic views over the Fez Medina and to the mountains beyond. Between October - May, the roof terrace is also a lovely place to work. There is seating and a larger table there. It can be very hot up there between June - September. In the kitchen there is a coffee filter machine and moka pot, oven / grill / hob, fridge freezer, smoothie maker and grinder (for grinding coffee beans fresh from the local market :). There are traditional features throughout, including cedarwood beams and traditional tilework, and the place is uncluttered and simply furnished. We have aircon in the main living spaces. The bustling local markets or souks are minutes away on foot, and yet the house is located in a quiet neighbourhood. Fez Medina is pedestrian only, so parking options are outside the old city walls. The nearest parking option is 5 minutes walk away. PLEASE NOTE that the wifi is very slow as we share it with a guesthouse next door. However, I prefer to buy a local SIM card (7.5 GB data is less that 4 euros a month) and use it as a hotspot. This is much faster, and more reliable and cost effective. Please also note that although there is an (old) TV in some of the photos, there is no TV in the apartment at the moment. There are some great places to eat within a few minutes walk, most have good wifi. The main train station is a short taxi ride from the Blue Gate, and taxis cost 1-2 euros. Fez airport is a 20 euro taxi ride away.
