Our 72m2 flat is located on a hill (altitude 100), one of the highest located areas in Brussels. It has a great view of coloured skies at sunset peaking through and above the big trees across the street. It is located near Dudenpark, a forest-vibe park with a great number tall beech trees, ideal for running, dog spotting, and walking through when you want to head towards Brussels Midi (international train station, 40' walk), Parvis de Saint Gilles (local cafes and restaurants, 40' walk) or the city centre, 60' walk).
In terms of public transport, there are many options. 2 buses stop at a 1-minute walk from the flat. Both go to the city centre (different routes) and one of them takes you directly to Brussels Midi train station (20') where you have a connection to every international train (to London, France, Amsterdam, Köln), a shuttle bus to Brussels Charleroi airport and direct train every 15/20 minutes to Brussels Zaventem. A 5-minute walk down the hill takes you to a tram that also takes you to Brussels Midi and the city centre . A 15-minute walk alongside the park takes you to the subway, which is a 15-minute ride into the very city centre of Brussels. Depending on where you need to be in the city centre, I would recommend the subway or tram.
It is a one-bedroom apartment with a balcony at the front and the back of the building. The bedroom is located at the back of the building (very quiet), has a queen size bed (200x160) and can be completely darkened with curtains. The living room is at the front of the building and has a very comfortable sleeping sofa (200x140) as we love to have people over. The room can be darkened with curtains (though not as dark as the bedroom) and there are some faint sounds from the street coming through (light sleeper talking here).
The living room has a television screen with Chromecaster (no smart or regular tv), 2 yogamats, yoga blocks and ball, and weights. The dinner table is also located in the living room, alongside a desk and drawing table (used as a corner for artistic work).
The bathroom is small, with a tall mirror, a sink and a bath tub which we also use as a shower. The toilet is in a separate nook.
The main thing to mention about the kitchen is that it is not fully equipped. We have been living here for two years and use the kitchen daily, but it is a temporary setup while we wait to do renovations. We have an electric 2-pit stove, an airfryer, a Ninja multicooker, a microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, sink, and washing machine.
The apartment building is residential, which means we take care as neighbours not to make excessive noise (e.g. being mindful of the volume of music and television or not slamming the doors to the hallway).
