My one bedroom place is 2 blocks from the beach. Great, simple one bedroom apartment. I've lived here for two years and it's too good to move. Location is everything, and my apartment is walking distance to everything in Venice; namely the Canals, Abbot Kinney, the beach, the Venice sign, nightlife, etc.
