Comfortable wilderness cabin in Sweden – close to Tresticklan National Park Welcome to our cozy and spacious cabin in the Swedish wilderness, surrounded by forests, lakes and peaceful nature. 🏡 The cabin The cabin has 6 sleeping places and offers a warm, comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. It is well equipped with comfortable beds and plenty of space for families, couples or nature lovers looking for peace and outdoor experiences. The cabin is located on a hillside with beautiful views overlooking the lake, and it is only about a 5-minute walk down to the water. There are many outdoor seating areas around the cabin, making it easy to enjoy both sunny and shaded spots throughout the day. 🌲 Nature and surroundings The cabin is located only about 5 km from Tresticklan National Park, one of the largest untouched forest areas in southern Sweden. This is a true wilderness area with beautiful forests, silence and wildlife. It is possible to see wild animals in the area, depending on the season and time of day. The nearby lake is about 1.5 km long and offers great opportunities for swimming, rowing and fishing. There is pike in the lake, and fishing is popular. You can also walk to the large lake system Stora Le / Store Le from the cabin. The walk takes approximately 15 minutes through the surrounding nature. Stora Le stretches around 70 km through the forests and waterways of Sweden and Norway and is known for its beautiful wilderness scenery. Please note that there is no boat available directly at Stora Le. There is a main road nearby, so you may occasionally hear some traffic, but the area still feels peaceful and close to nature. 🚣 Outdoor life * Rowing boat available * Several fireplaces and outdoor cooking areas * Wood-fired sauna * Many outdoor seating areas * Hiking and nature experiences directly from the cabin 🔥 A place to slow down This is a place for campfires, quiet mornings, outdoor cooking, fishing trips and evenings surrounded by nature. Perfect for guests who enjoy simple and authentic outdoor living combined with comfort. ⸻ 🤝 Experienced hosts We have completed 27 home exchanges since 2001 and are experienced, reliable and respectful exchange partners. The cabin has also been rented out on Airbnb for around 13 years, with approximately 200 different families and guests staying here over the years. Many guests have returned several times, which we feel says a lot about the experience of staying here. We have now decided that we no longer want to rent out the cabin commercially, and instead would like to use it for home exchanges. ⸻ 🚗 Practical information A car is necessary in this area. The nearest airport is Gothenburg Airport. The small town of Ed is about 15 km from the cabin. There you will find grocery stores, Systembolaget, cafés and around 17 different restaurants and places to eat. It is a very cozy and lively small community located in Dals-Ed municipality in Dalsland. In the other direction, it is about 15 km to the Norwegian border. On the way there is Nössemark Camping, a lovely and lively place during the summer with a beautiful café, good food, reasonable prices and entertainment. At the camping is the river/lake system Stora le where you can rent boats, fish and also take the ferry across towards Bengtsfors. There are sightseeing boats available in the area as well, offering beautiful trips through the lakes and waterways of Dalsland.
