Experience the Magic of Winter in Swedish Lapland (or see Stockholm, more info below).
Welcome to my home in Jokkmokk, in the heart of Swedish Lapland — a perfect winter retreat available from September to May.
Jokkmokk is a small, cozy, and welcoming town with some shops, cafés, and a few restaurants. Its a well known touristic destination and often described as the last outpost before the vast national parks and wilderness of Swedish Lapland. Despite its small size, the town has a strong cultural life and a unique Arctic atmosphere.
My house is located in a quiet area in town, within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, the bus station and the Ájtte Sami Museum. A short walk also takes you to Lake Talvatis, offering beautiful winter scenery and an outdoor gym.
The house has two floors and includes five rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, great Wi-Fi, and free parking. There is a large terrace and backyard, ideal for grilling, relaxing, and enjoying the crisp Arctic air. You are also welcome to use our bicycles for free.
The surrounding nature is stunning, with northern lights, star-bright nights, white snow, and reindeer often nearby. The area offers easy access to winter activities such as dog sledding, snowmobiling, winter hiking, and downhill and cross-country skiing.
Getting here is easy:
Fly to Stockholm Arlanda, take a domestic flight to Luleå Airport, and from there a shuttle bus directly to Jokkmokk.
I’m open to house swaps from a couple of weeks up to several months, depending on timing and destination.
If you’re looking for an authentic Arctic experience with comfort, culture, and stunning beutiful nature right outside your door, this is the place.
STOCKHOLM
I also have an apartment in Stockholm if Lapland feels a bit too far north or too adventurous, we can arrange a swap with my Stockholm apartment instead. It could also be possible to combine Jokkmokk and Stockholm in one exchange. The last photos in the listing are from Stockholm.
The Stockholm apartment is located in cosy and trendy Sundbyberg, a safe and quiet area with excellent public transportation. The metro and commuter trains are within walking distance, and Stockholm city centre is only about 10 minutes away. The neighbourhood offers beautiful parks, lakes and green areas, as well as outdoor gyms, a nice beach and plenty of walking paths. Shopping malls, affordable bars and restaurants are just outside the door, and public transport connections make it easy to reach concert venues, football arenas and beaches in all directions. Strawberry Arena is within walking distance through a scenic park area with lakes.
The apartment is a one-room apartment comfortable for single travellers or couples. It works very well for both holidays and remote work. It has a comfortable 140 cm bed, a TV ans a dedicated workspace with screen and fast Wi-Fi (150 Mbit). The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. Several affordable supermarkets and bars are close by.
Free car parking is available on the street just outside the building if you arrive by car, and I will show you exactly where. The area is calm and quiet, making it easy to relax and sleep well, while still being close to everything you need. Pizza, kebab, Thai food, sushi and many other options are only a short walk away.
I am a social and friendly person and will be awailable to answer questions. I am happy to share tips and ideas about travelling, history, culture and life in Sweden. I have travelled to more than 40 countries and enjoy helping others plan their trips.
The apartment can also be available for longer stays. Please send me a message if you are interested.
With good communication we can easily sort out the details together. :) All the best / Tomas
