I would like to welcome you to my home for the duration of your stay in London. My home is located in Peckham which is an arty and leafy area of south-east London. It is close to the bustling market street (Rye Lane), but is just far enough away to be quiet with no traffic noise (located on a cul-de-sac).
Peckham is a particularly ethnically diverse part of London and that is reflected in the many restaurant and market options in the area. There are several Michelin rated restaurants within walking distance of my home. If you are a pub lover you are in for a treat, as there are many nearby, as well as two breweries within throwing distance and many more just a short journey away in Bermondsey. You could even visit the pub I part-own in New Cross - The Shirker's Rest - where you are guaranteed a welcome. There is a gym and a cinema within 5 minutes walk, a swimming pool and theatre within 10 minutes and two outdoor saunas around 30 minute walk (or shorter cycle).
If you wish to explore other parts of London, then Peckham Rye train station is 5 minutes walk from my door. You can get a direct train to London Bridge (10 mins), Victoria (15 mins) or the Thameslink is convenient for several stops through central London. It is also on the orbital network, which provides a direct connection to Clapham, Canada Water, Whitechapel, Shoreditch, Dalston and Highbury & Islington. There are a multitude of bus routes from Rye Lane that provides 24 hour access to central London.
The home has three double bedrooms - 1 x king-size, 1 x queen and 1 x small (i.e. 120cm). The master (king double) bedroom is usually my room. If we do a swap on the same dates, then this room is available. I am also open to hosting you in my home, in which case the two guest bedrooms would be available only.
In the queen double room, there is a built-in wardrobe with plenty of hanging space, a desk if you wish to work, shelves and chest of drawers. The smaller double has some hanging space, a shelf and space under the bed for storage, but there is no space for a desk or chair. The king double room has under the bed storage, a TV and plenty of space for your luggage. I could make space in my built-in-wardrobe and drawers if desired. There is is one bathroom with a bath, powerful shower, sink and toilet.
The open plan ground-floor has a large workstation, sofas (one big enough to double up as a 4th bed in the house), TV, dining table, breakfast bar (good for stand-up laptop working) and a modern kitchen (dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, oven and coffee machine).
There is a private garden with decking. It's a suntrap in the afternoon in the warmer months. There is rear access for bikes. There is also a front garden with rose bush and lavender, which gets the sun in the mornings - a lovely spot to enjoy a coffee and catch the rays in the warmer months.
